I shiver to think "what if" I hadn't gotten there so soon. I can't believe this bassinet has not been recalled. Bought the Arm's Reach Bassinet for my second baby, and it's a VAST improvement in so many ways.

We chose this bassinet after looking at quite a few. When it arrived I was somewhat let down, the fabric that covers the canopy is very cheap looking and the mattress does cave in the middle as others here have indicated... But the real problem was the vibrating attachment. It was SO LOUD and shaky, you could hear it on the other side of the house! We called Kolcraft directly, and they immediately sent us a new one without issue. The new one isn't very soothing and I am not really happy about it. Oh well, lesson learned - for things like this you should probably see it hands on in a store before purchasing!

My 16 month old fell in love with trains after staying in a vacation hotel near a train yard. I thought this would be a great holiday toy for him, especially since we're ring to avoid bringing any more plastic toys into our home. I'm not sure if the train counts as a success. He likes watching Mommy & Daddy roll it around him, but quickly loses interest when he rolls it himself. I think this is probably because the cars are held together by magnets and fall apart pretty easily. Pushing a train with 4 cars is fun, but not so much fun if you have only one car within 15 seconds.

The train is very well made though there are some small parts as other reviewers have indicated. I am very happy with the quality and durability of this toy. Perhaps my son needs to grow into it a bit more and learn to be more gentle in pushing it. In the meantime, it makes a bright and cheerful addition to his nursery.

My son recieved this toy for his 1st Birthday and he LOVES it! He walks all over the house, pulling it along behind him. There's nothing cuter than saying, "Walk your Froggy!" and seeing him run after it and walking his frog! This has proven to be his favorite birthday present, and it's such a high quality toy, I can definitely see passing it down to future siblings! =)

One thing to watch though, the pull string is a bit too long, he has already wrapped it all the way arond his neck twice! That can easily be fixed by trimming it down and knotting the end if needed.

When this cart arrived, I could barely get it together fast enough, he was so excited with it visually! The crocodiles are adorable, they don't clack loudly at all. The cart is designed so it won't tip backwards very easily, so my son can pull up on it to walk. He gets just the right speed for his age on our carpet, not too fast. My mother in law bought this toy for our 1 yr old daughter and one of the side alligators broke off almost immediately. We returned the toy, and got a replacement and the same thing happened with the center alligator. I can't understand why this keeps happening, but we will ask for a refund instead of a replacement. At first, I wondered if the Stacking Train was ever going to entertain my son. You see the cars slide off the linking dowels, if pushed down too hard. Well, at least when traveling on carpet, which is the main playing surface in our home. What's more, the order in which the blocks stack onto the cars is essential for movement. The blocks don't have to stack in perfect order, but certain blocks must be stacked in the appropriate places, otherwise the wheels cannot rotate. My husband and I noticed how aggravated Will became when he first started playing with the Stacking Train; thus, we intervened as the toy frustrated him so. Once he became familiar with the puzzle, (2 weeks later) he began to enjoy playing with it. The Stacking Train soon became a favorite, and now, 7-months later, it still amuses him for 30 minutes or more a day. I have found that sometimes the age recommendation on toys is not always accurate. This plaything is appropriately labeled for 2 and up, and will probably continue to entertain my son for another 6 months or more. As a side note, the stacking order is quite complex for little minds. Although this does not take away from the fun-factor, it can add to the level of frustration. This mommy had to go on-line to see the stacking sequence so she could teach her son. The Stacking Train is a well-built puzzle! It has been tossed around, stepped on, and even chewed upon, yet keeps on rolling. There are NO sharp edges on this toy, but we have had a few minor mishaps when my son, who plays rough, has pulled the dowels off the cars. We glued them back with wood glue, and the following day this choo choo is back to rolling around on the floor. Recently, my son lost one of the blue dowels, which links the cars together. I called the customer service number, found on the bottom of the toy, and the company replaced the entire train for nothing. Now that's excellent customer service! My almost 2 year old daughter received this for Christmas this year (1 month ago). She loves to play with it as a train - she lets her stuffed animals ride it and even tries to ride it herself. As a puzzle, she has mastered the 'take it apart' aspect, and is learning to put it back together. It is a well designed puzzle that will be challenging for younger toddlers - some of the reasons that you'd choose block X over block Y are subtle - but it is still a serviceable train most ways you can put it together, although it might look odd.It is very durable and safe. My daughter has sat upon it, stood on it, and dropped it on a wooden floor. So far it is still completely intact. Nothing has chipped or come loose.This is another great Melissa and Doug product that will be enjoyed for many years, provided we can avoid losing the pieces. Our son walked a little on the late side at 17 months, and this little alligator has become a great companion for him since. With a dog, we must go for walks daily, and he walks the alligator while I tend to his younger brother and walk the dog. That alligator has put some MILES on it. We got it as a gift from my aunt who is an avid Salvation Army shopper and were devastated when a wheel fell off (this is probably after at least 50 miles on the thing, not including its milage from previous owners), but we found a label on its clackity body and were ecstatic to have located a new one. The best part ... no batteries! Just a well-made and inexpensive toy that is, quite literally, willing to go the distance with your little one.

I'm reviewing this just for those of you who might be confused by the large vs. small models. My 2 year old son is pretty small for his age - maybe 25 pounds, maybe 34 inches. He's tiny. So when I saw that the "large" wheely bug is supposedly for 3 years old and up I figured my tiny guy would certainly need the small. Still, I hated to buy the wrong size and then have to ship it back. So I found a store in town that offers wheely bugs and went there to physically have my son try them out. Am I glad I did! The small is so tiny that I cannot imagine it being appropriate for any child. If your child is so small as to need the small version, chances are he or she should not be riding it. Remember, these things do not have seat belts or other safety features. It's a fast-moving ride-on, on chair casters. The small model looks suitable for a stuffed doll, perhaps. My son fits on the large version with no problem. His feet hit the floor flat. He can climb on and off with no difficulty. Also, be aware that this really only rolls well on hardwood floors or other smooth, flat surfaces. It's tough to roll on carpet of any sort - even area rugs. Would work well on a smooth, flat driveway or in an unfinished basement. So please do not hesitate to purchase the large model, unless your child is very young or very, very tiny (maybe shouldn't be on this toy, in that case), and do be sure you have someplace where your child can have fun riding it.

After reviewing the dozens of suggestions that I purchase large to avoid tears and short lived use of the bug, I feel that I should set the story straight for parents looking for the right size "ride on" toy for their child. My daughter received this bug when she was 17 months old and in the 90th percentile for height. I believed that, surely, my daughter could ride with ease after the other parents had described how unreasonably tiny the small was. Unfortunately, her feet do not rest flat on the floor and she is unable to ride the bug effectively. Since her feet do not set flat and the handle bar is fairly low, she simply scoots off the back of the bug and pushes it through the house.

She does LOVE the Wheely Bug, as do I, but I did want to clear up any confusion. The large sized bug should be purchased for 3+ year old children and the small sized bug for younger toddlers to make riding the toy possible. Now, there might be exceptions and my daughter is by no means a risk taker or dare devil, but if you would like to see your younger toddler ride the bug...I would opt for a small. Sure, it looks small, but consider that they must straddle the plump little bug and have their tiny feet flat on the floor to really maneuver the adorable thing. If your child really prefers to push toys, the large is the way to go and perhaps he/she will ride it once they are older. I am glad that I went with the large for this reason.

Great toy that really is very attractive to young children. I am very happy with my purchase, but do feel the bug is slightly over priced when considering its simplicity...no flashing lights, sounds, motor. All in all, the bug is incomparable to other push toys, ride-on toys, and any other toys in general. This bug will be a winner in your home, guaranteed.

My son recieved this toy for his 1st Birthday and he LOVES it! He walks all over the house, pulling it along behind him. Also, be aware that this really only rolls well on hardwood floors or other smooth, flat surfaces. It's tough to roll on carpet of any sort - even area rugs. Would work well on a smooth, flat driveway or in an unfinished basement. So please do not hesitate to purchase the large model, unless your child is very young or very, very tiny (maybe shouldn't be on this toy, in that case), and do be sure you have someplace where your child can have fun riding it.

After reviewing the dozens of suggestions that I purchase large to avoid tears and short lived use of the bug, I feel that I should set the story straight for parents looking for the right size "ride on" toy for their child. My daughter received this bug when she was 17 months old and in the 90th percentile for height. I believed that, surely, my daughter could ride with ease after the other parents had described how unreasonably tiny the small was. Unfortunately, her feet do not rest flat on the floor and she is unable to ride the bug effectively. Since her feet do not set flat and the handle bar is fairly low, she simply scoots off the back of the bug and pushes it through the house.

She does LOVE the Wheely Bug, as do I, but I did want to clear up any confusion. The large sized bug should be purchased for 3+ year old children and the small sized bug for younger toddlers to make riding the toy possible. Now, there might be exceptions and my daughter is by no means a risk taker or dare devil, but if you would like to see your younger toddler ride the bug...I would opt for a small. Sure, it looks small, but consider that they must straddle the plump little bug and have their tiny feet flat on the floor to really maneuver the adorable thing. If your child really prefers to push toys, the large is the way to go and perhaps he/she will ride it once they are older. I am glad that I went with the large for this reason.

Great toy that really is very attractive to young children. I am very happy with my purchase, but do feel the bug is slightly over priced when considering its simplicity...no flashing lights, sounds, motor. All in all, the bug is incomparable to other push toys, ride-on toys, and any other toys in general. This bug will be a winner in your home, guaranteed.

My son recieved this toy for his 1st Birthday and he LOVES it! He walks all over the house, pulling it along behind him. There's nothing cuter than saying, "Walk your Froggy!" and seeing him run after it and walking his frog! This has proven to be his favorite birthday present, and it's such a high quality toy, I can definitely see passing it down to future siblings! =)

One thing to watch though, the pull string is a bit too long, he has already wrapped it all the way arond his neck twice! That can easily be fixed by trimming it down and knotting the end if needed.

My 9 month old son had been pulling up and cruising along the couch for some time & we thought he'd be thrilled with a toy he could push and walk with. When this cart arrived, I could barely get it together fast enough, he was so excited with it visually! The crocodiles are adorable, they don't clack loudly at all. The cart is designed so it won't tip backwards very easily, so my son can pull up on it to walk. He gets just the right speed for his age on our carpet, not too fast. Very bright and such a nice alternative to the plastic junk you see. Something you'd want to hold onto for awhile. And the price is great at . here on amazon.

My mother in law bought this toy for our 1 yr old daughter and one of the side alligators broke off almost immediately. We returned the toy, and got a replacement and the same thing happened with the center alligator. I can't understand why this keeps happening, but we will ask for a refund instead of a replacement. Although she likes pushing it around, this toy is bad news on functioning properly.

My son received this toy as a gift for his birthday. I am very impressed with how sturdy it is! He has taken this toy up and down the steps (all 13 of them) many times, and you would never know it, because the toy shows no signs of wear. He is fascinated with the moving mouth, and loves dragging it behind him all over the house. This toy reminds me of one I had as a child; it's nice to see that there's a company that still makes sturdy, classic toys that are reasonably priced.

My little one loves to pull her hippo all around the house. It's crafted very nicely... as are most Melissa & Doug wooden toys. I like that it's a classic wooden toy, a nice change from so many of her plastic, bells-and-whistle type toys. Even though she was able to walk around for awhile, she didn't really start to enjoy the toy for several months after walking/running. My only complaint is that the gadget/wheel that creates the open-and-shut mouth motion often falls off alignment. I have to manually realign the wheel to get it to open and shut again. Not a huge deal, but still somewhat inconvenient being its only "main" feature. I've also seen this toy in the frog version... which is also really cute.

I think that the wheels should be able to turn in both directions. They can only turn if the toy is pushed along, not when pulled. Since the toy is called "Drumming Bear Push Toy", I shouldn't be surprised, but I think my son would like to play with it more if the wheels rolled easier, and in both directions. I bought this for my son's 1st birthday with the idea that it would help balance him as he learns how to walk. Nice solid construction. I like these solid wood toys over the plastic ones. We've had it for a few weeks; my son is walking now and prefers to carry the toy over his shoulder, so we have to watch out for that...at least he likes it.
